Setup

From source material to an approved outline

Setup turns one document into the whole shape of your course: the voice, the focus, the look, the people on the slides, and the outline every later stage builds from.

Start a new course

The home screen gives you two doors. Start creating begins a new course from a book, outline, transcript, or other source material. Open a course returns you to a project already in motion.

On the source screen, add one PDF, Word document, or text file up to 50 megabytes. The course title is optional here: leave it blank and CourseBuilder reads the material and suggests titles during setup. Confirm the file and click Start building my course.

Your book’s voice and your title

Step 1 is your book’s voice. CourseBuilder listens for the way you naturally communicate and writes a tone summary from the source. Your course should sound connected to you, not like generic training copy, so if the summary reads right, choose Match my book’s tone.

Step 2 is the course title. CourseBuilder analyzes the source and offers 5 title choices. Pick one, ask for more, let CourseBuilder decide, or type your own and click Use title. While CourseBuilder is analyzing, let it finish: Cancel abandons the operation, it never speeds it up.

Course focus and the course look

Step 3 identifies the course focus, the label that guides language and teaching approach for the whole build. If it is wrong or incomplete, correct it in the field before continuing. If it is right, choose That is right, keep going.

Step 4 sets the visual look: clean and modern, bold and punchy, editorial and premium, or cinematic and dramatic. You can also describe a custom look or let CourseBuilder decide. You will refine artwork later in Design; this sets the starting direction.

Who appears and what it teaches

Step 5 defines who appears in the artwork: the people, age range, setting, and recurring scene details that keep images true to your audience. Something like “corporate marketing professionals ages 25 to 45, focused, using laptops in a modern office” gets applied consistently across every generated image.

Step 6 shows the findings map: what CourseBuilder understood from your material. This is not the outline yet. Look for proof it caught your real frameworks, your named systems, and your language rather than generic categories. Anything missing or wrong goes in the instruction field, then click Start creating my course.

Course size, instructor, and the outline

Step 7 picks the size. Mini is roughly 3 to 4 modules and 6 to 10 videos. Standard is about 5 to 7 modules and 12 to 16 videos. Flagship runs about 7 to 9 modules and 17 to 24 videos. The word estimate under each option shows the expected balance spend, and you can describe an exact size instead.

Step 8 confirms who is teaching. This name is inserted into your recordable scripts, so check it before continuing.

Step 9 is the outline itself: modules, videos, sequence, and major teachings. Use the instruction field for anything you want renamed, reorganized, added, or removed. Individual slides stay editable later. When it is on target, click Approve outline and CourseBuilder moves into Write and begins the first slides. Keep the tab open while that first writing operation runs.

The setup recap, always one click away

After setup completes, the Setup step becomes your course shape recap. At a glance you get the module count, written slides, and totals, plus every decision: title, focus, size, instructor, voice, and visual look.

People and scenes lives here too. Click Edit any time you want to revise the recurring people or scene details. What it teaches expands to show the source findings behind the course, so you can confirm what CourseBuilder understood without rebuilding anything.
